Well, it’s September again and we have another eight months or so of fresh new TV to look forward to. As always, we have some returning old friends and some new shows to try out. My excitement level ranges from “gaaaaww, geeeeez”, to “OMG, OMG, OMG!!”. Let’s take a short trip through some of the new shows that our TVs will show us this fall.
—
Knight Rider – A sequel to the hit 80′s classic.
Premier: Wed, Sep 24th @ 8:00pm
Excitement Level: Noooooooooooo!
I’m not even worried about this show… it’s gonna suck and I’m not going to watching (who am I kidding, I’ll watch) and it’ll be canceled before you can say, “Michael, that’s not my gear shift”.
—
Crusoe – Drama based on the tale of Robinson Crusoe.
Premier: Fri, Oct 17th @ 8:00pm
Excitement Level: Hey, this could be good.
They promise high adventure and a cross between Lost, The Swiss Family Robinson, Pirates of the Carribean and MacGyver. As long as they take the best elements of each and don’t turn this in to Cast Away meets Joe vs. The Volcano, I’ll be fine.
—
Kath and Kim – Comedy about the most dysfunctional duo in suburbia.
Premier: Thu, Oct 9th @ 9:30pm
Excitement Level: I can’t wait.
I love Molly Shanon and I’m very much looking forward to this. It’s based on a very successful Australian show of the same name. Comedies based on foreign shows are hit and miss… let’s hope it’s good like Sanford and Son and not as bad as say, Coupling (or whatever it was called here).
—
My Own Worst Enemy – Henry and Edward are polar opposites who share only one thing in common: the same body.
Premier: Mon, Oct 13th @ 10:00pm
Excitement Level: Metered.
This could be good… if done right. If it’s more Bourne Identity than Man With Two Brains, it’ll be good. Christian Slater is hit or miss with me these days so I’m a little worried.
—
Fringe – Sci-fi drama starring Joshua Jackson as the son of an institutionalized scientist helping a FBI agent solve mysterious cases.
Premier: Tue, Sep 9th @ 8:00pm
Excitement Level: Worried
This is from J.J. Abrams so it could be good but I’ve heard some reviews of advanced screeners that expressed concern. I really enjoyed the first couple seasons of the x-files so hopefully this’ll be good.

Are there any other new shows that you fine folks are looking forward to?
