The great thing about a PVR is the ability to record YOUR show, when your wife needs to watch HER show. If we did not have our Personal Video Recorder we would have been forced to separate rooms which we usually don’t like as we have little enough time together as it is. The premiere of this season’s “Heroes” was on last night and in our house, this went toe to toe with the premiere of a show that B.W.E. loves, “Dancing With The Stars“. The show is amusing at times and painful to watch at most others. As I sat and waited impatiently for that “MAN HOUR” to start, I was struck by three women on the show. Number one (that is to say, first up, and not THE GREATEST) was Jennie Garth. Back in the 90210 days she always seemed kinda goofy looking to me, but now, as a mother of three, age has done her well. Nice gams on that tomato. Number two, was Jane Seymour. I knew she was older, but I didn’t know she was practically 60. Shit. Wow. She;s a damn fine looking woman for 57. Number Three (and what I would refer to as THE GREATEST) was former spice girl Mel B. See, she was my Spice of choice back in the day when they ruled the air as she was likely the edgiest (that’s how I like my women, right B.W.E?). Jeebus she looked pretty friggin spectacular. Motherhood has DEFINITELY done her well. Well once the eye candy was done, it was my nerdy time to shine.
As was expected, both Nathan and Peter are alive. You think I am spoiling something? Well you are wrong. If you have seen the ads, you know I am not spoiling anything. This is one of my pet peeves in action. Whoever edited this ad for the show, whoever APPROVED the ad for the show, needs to be fucking fired. WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU SHOW THE FINAL “SHOCKING” REVEAL IN THE TRAILER FOR THE SHOW?!?! What kind of fucking retarded ass monkey is in charge of editing these commercials? You are a moron.

With that out of the way, let me continue. This season sees some familiar faces recovering from the events from the finale of last year, and introduces us to some new ones. Claire seems to be incapable of making friends with vaginas and has made a new acquaintance in a new town. Matt and Suresh are protecting Molly with Matt seeming to take the fatherly role, while Suresh and Noah work to infiltrate The Company. We also discover that the older heroes may not have been heroes after all, but, in fact, villains (dum-dum-dummmmm), and are about to be knocked off.
The second series of Heroes has started out exactly as the first season started out. With a wimper. I am sure it will ramp up to a roar, but there were no great surprises and no great reveals.

As they did last season, they have re-introduced a great element to the story of heroes. They have provided us with Online Graphic Novels. While these GNs are not required reading to understand the weekly televised series, they DO provide some extra insight and background on the characters. This week, for instance, we see the flight of the two spanish kids Maya and Alejandro (Dania Ramirex who also played Callisto in X3: The Last Stand) and learn that they have read Suresh’s fathers book and are headed to find him in New York. My only issue with this year’s version of the OGN is that they have presented it in a video fashion and so you are forced to read at a certain pace and cannot just browse through the pages and admire the work of the artist who created it. This strikes me as an executive decision rather than a creative decision. No artist would say “I only want you to see my work for 98 seconds”. Besides this terrible format choice, I am actually glad they have continued the OGN, which you can check out here.
